Senior Electrical Engineer
Location: Rochester, NY
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $125,000 – $165,000 annually
Position Overview
Patriot Design & Consulting is seeking a licensed Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of electrical systems for public-sector, institutional, and government projects throughout New York State. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with clients while leading multidisciplinary project teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering design for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, emergency power, and low-voltage systems.
- Prepare and review calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
- Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and outside consultants.
- Conduct field investigations, site visits, and existing-condition assessments.
- Support construction administration including submittal reviews, RFIs, and change orders.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, and applicable building codes.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers.
- Participate in client meetings and proposal development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- NYS Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain through reciprocity within six months.
- 10+ years of building systems design experience.

Position Overview

Responsibilities
- Develop electrical construction documents and BIM models.
- Assist with power, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage system design.
- Perform load calculations and equipment sizing under engineer supervision.
- Coordinate with project teams and outside consultants.
- Conduct field surveys and document existing conditions.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or related field.
- 2+ years of building systems design experience.

Patriot Design & Consulting is seeking a Plumbing Engineer to support the design and coordination of plumbing systems for public-sector, educational, municipal, healthcare, and commercial facilities throughout New York State. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary project teams to develop practical, code-compliant solutions from planning through construction.
Responsibilities
- Design domestic water, sanitary waste, vent, storm drainage, natural gas, and specialty plumbing systems.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, reports, and construction documents.
- Develop and coordinate Revit models with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection disciplines.
- Conduct field investigations, site visits, and existing-condition assessments.
- Support construction administration activities including submittal reviews, RFIs, and field observations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, plumbing codes, and industry standards.
- Participate in client meetings and project coordination activities.
- Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and document production.
Qualifications

Salary Range: $110,000 – $150,000 annually
Position Overview
Patriot Design & Consulting is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support the design and coordination of fire suppression and life safety systems for public-sector, educational, municipal, healthcare, and commercial facilities throughout New York State. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary project teams to develop practical, code-compliant solutions from planning through construction.
Responsibilities
- Design fire sprinkler, standpipe, fire pump, and specialty fire suppression systems.
- Perform hydraulic calculations and fire protection system analyses.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, reports, and construction documents.
- Conduct code reviews and life safety evaluations.
- Coordinate fire protection system designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines.
- Conduct field investigations, site visits, and existing-condition assessments.
- Support construction administration activities including submittal reviews, RFIs, and field observations.
- Coordinate with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) and code officials as required.
- Participate in client meetings and project coordination activities.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Fire Protection Technology, Construction Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of fire protection design experience for building systems.
- Experience designing fire sprinkler and suppression systems.
- Working knowledge of applicable NFPA standards, International Building Code (IBC), International Fire Code (IFC), and New York State Building Code requirements.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with public-sector, municipal, educational, healthcare, or government facilities.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary building projects.
- Familiarity with BIM workflows and construction administration.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
